Carports and Patio Canopies
Transform your patio or driveway with a carport / patio canopy
Our carports / patio canopies are manufactured from reinforced plastic which means the translucent roof panels allow the natural light through. The GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester) is the modern day fibreglass which means the carports are light weight yet incredibly strong. You will also find that the carports are virtually maintenance free, just needing wiping down with warm soapy water. The canopies are fully weather tested and can withstand substantial wind and snow conditions. They have been tested to withstand snow loadings of 1690kg and winds of 146mph.
Adding a carport to your property will transform an area at the side or at the back of your property and you will also gain the benefits from this new feature. By installing a carport you will be able to protect your car, motor bike, caravan or boat.
A recent survey from the RAC showed that just 19 per cent of Britain’s 28 million cars are put in a garage at night, yet as many as two-fifths of households have access to one. The study showed 53 per cent of cars are left on driveways and 25 per cent are parked on the street, with 3 per cent kept elsewhere. So this brings me back to our carports, if 53% of cars are parked on the drive then, why not park your car under a car port with no hassle of getting in and out of a garage and easy access to your vehicle when you need it. The other benefit of a carport for your car is the air circulation under a carport will dry off any moisture on your vehicle rather than letting it cling to your car overnight if it was stored in a garage or left unprotected.
We have two types of carport available to buy online today, the self-supporting and the supported carport. Depending on the space you have and the look you want to achieve this information will help you decide which style will best suit your needs and property. If you have limited space you may decide that the self-supporting carport is best for you, due to the fact they have no obstructive vertical supports which means there is less chance of bumping into them. Whichever option you choose installing a new carport will offer you all year round protection and in some cases can add value to your home.
